GURU'S FAMILY HEARD OF HIS DEATH THROUGH THE PRESS

Relatives of late hip-hop star GURU are fuming after they learned of the rapper's death through the press - a day after his passing.The music legend, real name Keith Elam, lost his cancer battle on 19 Ap ril (10) in a New York medical facility. He had been in a coma since Febr uary (10).But Guru's sister Patricia is upset the star's business partner and col laborator Solar failed to notify his relatives, including the rapper's so n KC, who heard the tragic news on the radio.She tells MTV News, "(My son) Justin found out on the internet and call ed me. I had to call my dad. (Guru's nine-year-old son) KC found out ridi ng in the car, hearing it on the radio. That's not right if you care abou t someone. That's not how you treat them."My brother would never have wanted us to find out that way. Never in a million years. Especially his son." Patricia is also angry with the hospital authorities who released Guru' s body to Solar, insisting her beloved sibling should have been returned to his family.
